I make Renaissance flutes based on historical originals, principally those in the collection of the Accademia Filarmonica, Verona. My standard instruments are scaled to play at A=440Hz, and I can also produce flutes at A=408Hz (the pitch of many originals) or A=415Hz. My instruments are usually made in maple, but I also use other woods when available, including boxwood, sycamore and cherry.
